TONS of organization! Where to stay, what to do, who to meet. Lots of planning is going on right now and it's really becoming quite an exciting reality as things are falling into place.

I biked the perimeter of Manhattan yesterday, starting on the Upper East Side, on up the FDR around the top, over to the Upper West side, down around the tip, across the Brooklyn Bridge, then back up the FDR to finish where I started. It's about 32 miles around the island and I did it in about 2:30 with significant detours at some places. It was about 90 degrees out yesterday with pretty heavy humidity, so it should be relatively similar to a lot of the conditions we will encounter on the trip, except for the deserts in Nevada, which we don't really know what to expect. Brent recently checked Skydive off his list. Check out his face right before he jumps. Gore Bike Wear which is a Gore-Tex company provided us with these Jackets, the Alp-X and a couple pairs of their Power Biking Shorts. Thanks to Gore Bike Wear for supporting the trip. I haven't seen the jackets or shorts yet but Brent does a solid job showing them off. I think he missed his calling. I can't help but laugh at these pictures. Nice job buddy, nice job. |
